Rough Rough Week

Have you ever had one of those weeks where it doesn't seem endless and it is only Monday?

THAT WAS MY WEEK LAST WEEK.

Being a senior in your last semester of college is rough. I don't think I have ever met anyone who has actually enjoyed it or even had it easy. If they have, then they are one lucky duck out of the whole flock. But, I knew this when I started my class, so my complaining will get me nowhere.

The worst event of the week was my laptop (also known as my life, my pride and joy, etc) died. So because I had it under warranty, I was thankful enough to not have pay for the repairs. Unfortunately, Best Buy and GeekSquad took my LIFE away for up to a month. A FREAKING MONTH! I am a senior in college. I don't have the time for my computer to die and for you to take a month to fix it. SO, I can honestly say that was a challenge this week. It just seemed to make my whole week terrible.

I also have been having trouble sleeping. This is really bad since I have to focus in those senior classes and make myself able to answer questions, talk to students, and still manage to find time to work.

Thursday night I had a literal breakdown. This was probably the worst I have had this semester. (yes it was only the 3rd week and I have had multiple breakdowns). I called a friend and got a blessing. Let me tell you that I LOVE the priesthood. It is amazing what the Spirit can do to lift not only you up, but inspire such good promises from the Lord.

It took a lot for me to get over this slump, and I am not sure I am fully recovered. I literally felt defeated last week, and I am still having residual feelings of this, but I know that life is still great. I am blessed to have such great friends and family. They are so supportive of me and my work. I am SO thankful for the Lord and his constant reminders he gives me, even if they are not nice or good to me at the time. My mom also told me that sometimes He can't control what happens in your life, and sometimes bad things just happen to good people. I loved her for that comment.

No matter what, I will still find a way to make things happen. No matter what I will ALWAYS have people behind me, pushing me through the dark spots and cheering me on from the sidelines. I don't have anything to be ungrateful for, and I am blessed to have such a knowledge of my many blessings that make me who I am today.

So all in all, this rough week, where I was being stomped on was a blessing in disguise. I think I needed this push to make life much sweeter.

Until next time ladies and gents,

Lo

Stressing and Training.....C'est La Vie!

I started my last semester of college last Tuesday. Holy crap! That is exactly what has been going through my mind. I am excited and nervous all at the same time.

Mostly my reaction so far has been stress. STRESSSSSSSSSSS! I am so nervous about one of my classes, partially because my teacher is harsh and I really want to do well, and the other part because I am mentoring a young girl who isn't exactly the nicest or the most ambitious. Hopefully my bribe of Jamba Juice will stick with her. I decided though that I will not fail because I am a better student than that and I can do anything I put my mind to. Plus I have the faith that the Lord will help me calm down and do what I need to in order to pass my classes.

Also, I started training on Monday because I think that I am going to run a 10k this summer. I have done 1 before with my family and that didn't go well because I was not at all in shape. This go around I will be a little better though.
(If you know my family you know that we are crazy. We can't take normal pictures)

(My siblings and I at the finish line. If you look at the scores it looks like we ran a 10k fast...truth is we "accidentally" crossed the finish line instead of turning and only completed the 5k part...oh well.  :)

My friend and I decided that we would have the crazy idea to run the Teton Dam Marathon race if we could (like I said people just a 10k... I am not that ambitious yet to run an actual marathon.)
I am confident that I can actually do this one, because after you hit the 3 mile mark I feel like anything is possible. My only concern is if if I can run most of it. We will have to see how I am feeling that month! But I will say so far so good. I have also been hitting the weights again and it always makes me feel like super woman because I can feel my muscles again! Plus I am getting a kick out of helping someone else train too....

As far as my personal life, I wish I had time to have one. I will in about 3 more months and then I will be teaching little kiddos in Vegas!

Time Flying

OK! So first I would like to post and let people know that once again I am a blonde. I decided to go lighter since it was summer time and I needed a change! Cutting my hair shorter in the winter time didn't suffice for me, thus I returned to my natural ways.

So I have been home for the last week, and I have done absolutely NOTHING. I went out a few times and saw a few people but other than that nada. I am actually ok with that because I don't have a ton of friends here, and I needed to relax. Also, I got super sick for a few days and I couldn't leave anyway. Home was nice and a much needed surprise from my mom and dad.

So lets talk about school. This last semester was probably the most low key semester. Its not that I didn't have a ton of work, because I definitely did. I was teaching a class practically on my own and planning lots of lessons NOT in my content area. I also took a Praxis, was a director over a program, and still had to keep my sanity with people around me. (I found that people started irritating me a little bit when i was home.... OOPS!!)

Luckily I managed to scoot by with 3 A's and 1 B, raising my GPA to a 3.52! Hopefully I can keep it that way. I also found out I will be going to Las Vegas for my student teaching.

I will be teaching here for the fall, and it can't come soon enough! I will be a Wild Cat supporter! (and you best believe that I will be out there cheering for the football team even if they suck! I just love football!) I am so pumped to get this started! I thought the interview was super off and I didn't expect to have this opportunity but I feel like Vegas is the place and I need to be there in the fall.

I also decided that I am gonna look bangin' for my graduation. I need to get back to being healthy. I feel like absolute CRAP right now. I am hoping that I can stick with something long enough to actually accomplish it. What I have noticed though is that it is SUPER hard to stick to something when you have no time to devote to it and you need stuff fast. blehhhh.

So when i come back to Rexburg and when I leave I want to be a new person with the same awesome qualities that I have now. i will make it happen because I deserve it and I need to make myself into the best person i can be.

That is all for now!

Keep your head up and your hopes high :)

Am I really growing up?

OK! So this year is marking a lot of new changes. I am turning 23 in a few weeks. I will be graduating in July. I will start student teaching hopefully in Las Vegas in August or September.

I ALSO REGISTERED FOR MY LAST SET OF CLASSES!!!! WOOP! I don't think I have ever been more excited to wake up at 5:45 and wait to click a button. I am SO pumped. I feel like this is a great mark in my education. The fact that I no longer have to register for classes in college EVER is room enough for me to do a little dance all by myself.

Also, I have lost 11 pounds since I was at home in GA! I was so excited to see that! 10 of those are from the Biggest Winner program that I have participated in. I can tell some difference especially in my face. Let me show you what I mean.

This is a picture of me when I got my student teaching picture done. This is also what I looked like last semester, even when I was working out all the time

This is me now!

I definitely think I have made some progress and not to mention the fact that I feel pretty good. I put on an outfit on today and as I was looking in the mirror, I started to check myself out. Conceited? No, I am simply telling myself I look smokin hot!

Much Love,

Lo

Sunday, March 4, 2012

Oh hello Sunday

I woke up this morning with a huge headache and it literally pained me to roll out of bed this morning. Why you might ask was I in pain? Let me tell you.

Yesterday (Saturday) morning, I became really ambitious and decided that I was going to work out. Not such a bad idea right? I was feeling really good and I actually shaved off 30 seconds of my mile. So since last semester I have taken it down from 16:00 to 11:30. I was super pumped. Then I did the weight lifting as usual, because I also need to tone up.

Well then I was an idiot. Because I had a challenge with my team for the Biggest Winner on campus. I assumed (and I say assumed with the utmost importance) that we were going to have an easier challenge. I was wrong.

We did a minute to win it activity, where on top of running/jogging another mile, I had to complete a series of challenges from push-ups to crab walks and then to a balloon run with a partner from my team. Needless to say after 2 more hours of working, I was beat, and my body is showing me this today.

I did get to take a nap, laugh the whole time I was in church, and get to enjoy a long drive with a friend and watch Rexburg disappear in the mirror. It was a much needed day. Minus the hurting part.

Much Love,

Yes. That is right. I have started to blog again.

Why you might ask? No I am not getting married, I definitely do not have children. I am simply finding another way to waste time and most likely relieve myself of some stress and ranting. I feel like this is a more creative outlet than most right?

All of my friends are blogging too, so I thought I would join in on the fun.

There are a lot of things coming up, that I want to share with the world, and more importantly my friends and family. These things are literally changing me everyday, and I am finding new things out about myself and how I work as a person. I am also figuring out STILL how to manage being around certain people, which makes for an interesting learning experience.

I also wanted to share with you guys what I have been doing as far as getting healthy, and making small little life adjustments each day. So, I will give you information about my progress, and ways that you too can stay healthier and maybe try some things out for yourself. I promise that you will not regret it, because since I have become aware of my own body, I have managed to change myself only for the better.
DISCLAIMER: I am not a perfect person, and there are days that I have my weak moments, but I will not let those weak moments take over my life. There is no going back from where I was, because I see the future and it is much brighter.

So please enjoy my posts and I will certainly make it a point to enjoy everyone else's!

Much Love,
Lo
